Terms of Service
Simple terms for a simple purpose.
Last updated May 7, 2025
Amiga exists to give you a calm, private space to think out loud. These terms describe the ground rules for using that space.
What Amiga is — and is not
Amiga is an AI-powered emotional companion. It listens, responds, and remembers what you choose to share. It is designed for reflection, grounding, journaling, and thinking clearly — not to replace human connection.
Amiga is not a licensed mental health service. It is not therapy, counselling, psychiatry, or medical advice of any kind. If you are in crisis, experiencing a mental health emergency, or need professional support, please contact a qualified professional, a trusted person nearby, a crisis line, or emergency services in your area.
Nothing Amiga says should be taken as a substitute for professional advice. Amiga can help you explore your thoughts — it cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe.
Who can use Amiga
You must be at least 13 years old to use Amiga. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission.
By using Amiga, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you have the right to enter into this agreement.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately. We are not liable for losses resulting from a compromised account where you did not alert us promptly.
Acceptable use
You may use Amiga for lawful personal purposes. You may not:
- Use Amiga to harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm any person.
- Attempt to probe, extract, or replicate Amiga's underlying models, prompts, or systems.
- Use Amiga to generate content that is illegal, abusive, or violates others' rights.
- Share your account with others or use Amiga commercially without our written permission.
- Circumvent any limits, access controls, or security measures in the service.
Your content
What you share with Amiga stays yours. You retain ownership of your conversations, messages, and any other content you provide.
By using Amiga, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to process your content solely to deliver the service — for example, to generate responses, create session summaries, and personalise your experience. We claim no other rights over your content.
You can delete your content at any time by deleting individual sessions or closing your account entirely.
Subscriptions and billing
Amiga offers a Lite tier and paid Plus plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you choose.
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
We may change the price of paid plans with reasonable advance notice. If you disagree with a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
Availability and changes
Amiga is provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will remain available.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where a material change affects a paid feature, we will give reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rated credit or refund.
Disclaimer of warranties
Amiga is provided as-is and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your expectations or that any advice or response from Amiga will be accurate or appropriate for your situation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amiga's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. Closure is immediate and permanent — all your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if continued access creates legal or operational risk. Where possible, we will give notice before termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Amiga's operator is established. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Amiga after an update takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you disagree with a change, close your account before the effective date.
